Hot Yoga - The Benefits
Hi there,
You are most likely here
because you wish to know some more about Hot Yoga and
probably how to get started with it.
Ok, first of all, let’s
look at some of the benefits of this exercise…
Hot Yoga is a kind of
Bikram Yoga, and you may already know some of the benefits
of doing this or other kinds of yoga.
As written before, the benefits include:
- Be more healthy
- Be more flexible
- Have a more clear, balanced and calm mind
- Be physically and mentally stronger
- Clear out the toxins of your body
- Lose weight
- Let go of stress
In other words – you will
feel great!
How fast you’ll see these
results depends on a lot of things, including your current
shape. But if you are dedicated you will see results, and
probably fast as well.
Now, you’re probably
thinking, ok, so what is this Hot Yoga…?
What is it
As already mentioned, it's a kind of yoga which is based on
Bikram Yoga.
Bikram Yoga is developed by Bikram Choudhury, and is ideally
practiced in a warm room, so it’s recommended that you do
this in a warm room. You can optionally do this with a room heater.
It includes 26 postures and also different breathing
exercises.
People of all ages, on all different levels and from all
different backgrounds practice this kind of yoga.
Hot (Bikram) yoga comes from a school that has focused on
translating Eastern philosophy into a way more attuned to
the West. This is why you most likely will be able to attune to this kind of yoga
no matter your background.
The goal is to warm and stretch the different
parts of your body, thus warm up your body, move
fresh oxygen around your body and increase your flexibility.
As you can see from the
menu, there are many different kinds of yoga, and many
variations as well.
This is just one kind may just be the style
that you feel is just the right one for you. Otherwise there
are also other styles to choose from (see the menu).
How to learn it
As said on some of the
other pages. Your results from doing yoga, will depend on
what you put into it. You will probably see tremendous
results fast, if you start doing it, but you will also
have to stick to it, to get the long term benefits.
You may already have tried
it and wish to be better at it. You may wish to be
able to do it at home. You may wish just to try it out, to
see if it’s something for you.
